Batavia Chiropractor named RCS Researcher

Will recruit volunteers for global wellness study

Research & Clinical Science (RCS), a private-sector research firm conducting a world-wide health and wellness outcomes project, has announced the acceptance of Dr. Ryan Brinka's chiropractic office as an RCS Authorized Research Site.

Dr. Brinka will begin recruiting volunteers for the research project on Jan 17th. Volunteers accepted into the program will receive a free chiropractic examination and evaluation, and complete the RCS Self-Reported Quality-of-Life (SRQOL) study, an online questionnaire about their health history and perception of their physical, emotional and mental wellness using their home computer.

Volunteers also will receive a RCS “Vitality Wellness Index” report, which provides wellness rating based on the results of the examination and the SRQOL study and compares it to the rating of all other volunteers in the program. There is no charge for any of the research involvement and volunteers are under no obligation to receive chiropractic care. They may discontinue their participation at any time.

RCS has received Institutional Review Board approval and complies with all standard guidelines governing human subject research. Research findings are analyzed by an International Scientific Advisory Panel made up of medical doctors, doctors of chiropractic, PhD researchers, and wellness experts.

“As a chiropractor, I'm extremely interested in research showing that chiropractic has positive, far-reaching effects on all aspects of health and wellness,” said Dr. Brinka. “I'm honored to have been selected as an RCS Authorized Research Site and will look forward to adding data from this community to their global wellness database.”

Dr. Brinka, a graduate of National College of Chiropractic in Lombard, has been a doctor of chiropractic since 2002. He moved to the Batavia area in 2002, establishing a practice on Wilson St. He frequently gives health presentations to groups in the community.

The RCS program utilizes advanced internet-based data collection techniques to compile information on the impact of chiropractic on various aspects of health. Areas of study include exploring the ability of chiropractic care to strengthen the immune system, increase energy levels, and enhance the general level of wellness. It will also provide evidence of the impact of chiropractic on specific stress-related health issues such as hypertension arthritis, and asthma.
